Vermont Works for Women (VWW) has launched a monthly social hour for women from around the state to come together and discuss what it’s like to be a woman working in Vermont right now.
The goal of this event is for women to connect with each other, to find solidarity, and to share ideas and resources. Now in the 11th month of the pandemic, women are leaving the workforce at a rate 4x greater than men, so VWW is creating a safe place to share our experiences and find support while having some fun!
Each month will focus on a different topic. At our next social hour, on Thursday, February 11 from 3 – 4 p.m. on Zoom, The Pride Center of Vermont is joining the conversation to discuss how to foster LGBTQ-inclusive workplaces. To sign up and receive the Zoom link, email VWW Program Manager Missy Mackin at mmackin@vtworksforwomen.org.
Future topics might include negotiating your wage, finding a job during a pandemic, childcare, what employers are getting right, and more.
