Led by the League of Women Voters of Vermont, the Vermont Suffrage Centennial Alliance (VSCA) joins other groups nationwide to commemorate 100 years of women voting in the United States next year (2020). VSCA’s mission is to commemorate the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage and to acknowledge its incomplete legacy. VSCA’s goals include: educating Vermonters about the history and outcomes of women’s suffrage; and engaging women in the ongoing quest for equal rights and citizenship. Multiple projects and events are scheduled, starting in September, and culminating in a parade through Montpelier ending in a celebration on the State House lawn on Saturday, August 22, 2020. VSCA warmly welcomes all in monthly meetings in Montpelier with a phone conference option. Any level of engagement is appreciated, including offers of help with ample current projects, day-of assistance for events, contributions of time, advice, skills and financial assistance. Join this collaborative and enthusiastic group of volunteers and contribute to this statewide effort!
Please verify with the organizer that events are taking place in light of recommended social distancing measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
