Nationwide racial and disability-based disparities in school discipline have always been a feature of the American educational system. This presentation will provide the context and legal framework for school discipline policies nationwide and in Vermont and will discuss recent efforts to end the presence of police in our children’s schools. Presented by VLS Professor Matthew Bernstein and Vermont Legal Aid Staff Attorney Marilyn Mahusky.
