The Persist 5K Run/Walk is an event for all of us to champion the rights of women and raise money for the most vulnerable among us. Proceeds benefit the Vermont Women’s Fund. The Persist 5k is a non-competitive fun run/walk along beautiful Lake Champlain. While it is not chip-timed, all participants will wear a race bib. The first 400 registrants will receive a Nordic Headband by Skida.

REGISTRATION/CHECK-IN: 7:30-8:30 am
START TIME: 9:00 am
If you pick up your bib prior to race day, plan to arrive by 8:30 am. If you need to pick up your bib on Sunday, please arrive not later than 8:00 am.

Start and finish: Community Sailing Center, Burlington, VT directions
Participants may choose to run or walk a 5k course (3.1 mi) or a shorter
5k (3.1 mi): This is an out-and-back course. Racers head north from the Sailing Center along the Burlington bike path for ~1.5 mi. From there, the course turns around and racers return along bike path until finish line at the Sailing Center.
1-mi: Racers head north on bike path for .5 mi. Signs and volunteers will direct racers to turn around at .5 mi mark and return to Sailing Center.
Aid stations: Water will be available at the start/finish, and at one stop along the course.
Bathrooms: Located at the Community Sailing Center.
City of Burlington parking garages and all metered parking is free on Sunday. The closest parking lot to Burlington’s Community Sailing Center is at the North end of Lake Street, just South of the skate park. Find more details on downtown and waterfront parking here.
Dogs are welcome but must remain leashed at all times.
Dogs are not allowed inside the Sailing Center.
Please bring your own water bottles to fill up! We are trying to reduce as much waste as possible.
Race participants with strollers will be asked to start in the back.
Your race number must be worn on your front and must be visible.
Do NOT exchange or give your race number to another participant.
The Persist 5k is a rain/shine event. In the event of extreme weather that poses risk to participants, such as (but not limited to) extreme wind, lightning, hail, blizzards, or other natural disasters, the Persist 5k reserves the right to cancel or postpone the event. No refunds will be issued.
