The Governor’s Institutes of Vermont is pleased to announce opportunities for girls in STEM and Arts fields a the upcoming Winter Weekend Institutes. Held at Goddard College in February, these 48-hour learning extravaganzas give girls grades 9-12 the chance to dive into an intellectual passion or explore something new, all while meeting new and like-minded peers, and forming long-lasting friendships. This year, topics being offered include, Backpack Journalism: Writing, Film, and Storytelling; Directing Theatre; Youth Leadership; Microcontrollers; Biological Illustration; Chaos Art; Global Education and Youth Voice; Neuroscience; Disaster Health and Epidemiology; and Songwriting Boot Camp. A sliding scale tuition model make this experience affordable for every Vermonter. Enrollment is based off of a sliding scale, and spaces fill up quickly, so students can gain an advantage by applying early.
