Black Women Leaders in Predominantly White Institutions of Higher Education: Exploring Empowerment and Sustainability Through Transformative Leadership | VWHE

August 6 @ 11:00 am - 12:15 pm

| $10 – $100

Within the workplace, Black women face greater challenges than their white female, black male, and white male colleagues because systemic oppression within institutions uphold ideologies that promote white male dominance. As such, Black women remain severely underrepresented in positions of leadership in predominantly white institutions of higher education. This presentation reports the stories of Black women’s experiences as leaders in predominantly white institutions of higher education, sheds light on the factors that impact their empowerment and sustainability, and explores the Transformative Leadership model as a potential path forward.
