Catherine Jansen, with camera in hand, has traveled alone throughout India over twenty-five times. In this talk, Jansen shares her personal adventures, and the places and events that led to 1008, the evocative and hauntingly beautiful photographic body of work currently on view. Jansen tells the backstories of selected photographs, and also explains some of the techniques she developed for this project.
A members-only reception will be held after the talk. Meet artist Catherine Jansen while enjoying a taste of India with savory samosas and sweet laddus from Parvin’s Kitchen.
